TEACHING

Private Teaching Studio and Group Coaching

With over a decade of experience teaching clarinet and saxophone, as well as performance degrees from two of Canada's most renowned music schools, Andrew has developed a thriving studio of musicians from all ages and skill levels in his home base of Saint John, New Brunswick.  His students have performed in the Saint John Youth Orchestra and the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra, won prizes at both the city and province-wide Competitive Festival of Music, been featured as soloists and on recording projects, gone on to pursue music at the university level, and been hired for professional engagements throughout the Maritimes.

Andrew is also a sought-after coach for group classes and clinics.  He has worked as the group woodwind coach for both the Saint John Youth Orchestra and the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra, and has been regularly called upon to run rehearsals and sectionals for community and high school bands in Saint John and around New Brunswick.

Sistema New Brunswick

In addition to his private studio, Andrew is the Resident Clarinet Teaching Artist for Sistema New Brunswick's Saint John Centre, where he teaches over twenty students in various levels at an intensive daily after-school group music setting.  Sistema is a social program, provided at no cost to its participants, that seeks to unlock student's full potential through the power of orchestral music training and performance.

As one of the largest and widely known programs of its kind in North America, Sistema New Brunswick has a commitment to excellence and to giving back to its communities.  Andrew and his students can be regularly found performing around Saint John and New Brunswick representing, celebrating, and promoting the Sistema program.
